347/347H STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE

SUPER MIG 347/347H is a G 19 9 Nb / ER 347H type solid MIG welding wire, supplied precision layer wound, depositing a Niobium stabilized 19Cr 9Ni weld metal, suitable for use with Ar+2%O2 or Ar+0.5…5%CO2 mixed shielding gases. SUPER MIG 347/347H is used for welding of 321H and 347H austenitic stainless steels and similar steel, mainly used in applications including the fabrication of pipe, plate and vessels. The weld metal has a high resistance to corrosive media at service temperatures

SUPERTIG 347 is a W 19 9 Nb /ER 347 type solid TIG welding rod depositing a niobium stabilized 19Cr 9Ni weld metal suitable for use mainly with Ar shielding gas. SUPERTIG 347 is used for the welding of 321 & 347 grade stainless steel in a wide range of applications, including the fabrication of pipe, plate and vessels. The weld metal has high resistance to corrosive media at service temperatures.

STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE 347 (UNS S34700) is a columbium stabilized austenitic stainless steel with greater corrosion resistance and slightly better resistance in strong oxidizing conditions than 321 (UNS S32100). It has exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion when exposed to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800 – 1500°F (427 – 816°C). The alloy possesses great oxidation resistance and creep strength up to 1500°F (816°C). It also has good low temperature toughness.

STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE 347H (UNS S3409) stainless steel plate is the higher carbon (0.04 – 0.10) version of the alloy. It was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for higher strength at temperatures above 1000°F (537°C). In most instances, the carbon content of the plate enables dual certification.

Slightly tougher than 304 stainless, this material will produce the exact tough stringy chips. The use of slow speeds and constant positive feeds will reduce this alloy’s tendency to work harden. 347 may be welded by all commonly used fusion and resistance methods.

Oxyacetylene welding is not recommended. When necessary, use AWS E/ER347 filler metal. Working temperatures of 2100-2250 °F (1149-1232 °C) are advised for forging, upsetting and other hot work processes. This alloy cannot be worked with at temperatures below 1700 °F (927 °C). Material must be water quenched or fully annealed after working to retain maximum corrosion resistance.

Applications:

  • Niobium stabilised stainless steel rod prevents weld decay and offers excellent corrosion resistance. Suitable for use on 18/8 type stainless steel and where the weld is subjected to temperatures above 400 ºC.
  • Chemical, food and power generation industries.

347Si/347LSi STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE

SUPER MIG 347Si/347LSi is a G 19 9 Nb Si / ER 347Si type solid MIG welding wire, supplied precision layer wound, depositing a Niobium stabilized 19Cr 9Ni weld metal, suitable for use with Ar+2%O2 or Ar+0.5…5% CO2 mixed shielding gases.

SUPER MIG 347Si/347LSi is used for welding of 321 and 347 austenitic stainless steels and similar steel, mainly used in a range of applications including the fabrication of pipe, plate and vessels. SUPER MIG 347Si/347LSi weld metal has a high resistance to corrosive media at service temperatures.

Properties

Bare, corrosion-resistant, chromium-nickel rods for welding austenitic chromium nickel alloys of the 18% Cr-8% Ni type. OK Tigrod 347Si has good general corrosion resistance. The alloy is stabilised with niobium to improve resistance to the intergranular corrosion of the weld metal. The higher silicon content improves the welding properties such as wetting. Due to the niobium content, this alloy is recommended for use at higher temperatures.

Stainless Steel ER347Si Filler Wire is a columbium-stabilized stainless-steel welding wire used to weld Types 321 and 347. Addition of columbium reduces the possibility of chromium carbide precipitation and consequent intergranular corrosion. The higher silicon content improves the welding properties giving better weld flow & smoother weld beads. SS 347Si Wire has excellent general corrosion resistance. Typical service temperatures are in the range -100 degrees C up to 400 degrees C, although higher carbon batches (>0.04%C) are suitable for use above 400 degrees C.

Applications

ER347Si Welding Wire is recommended if the weld metal is to be subjected to high temperatures above 750 degrees F. Stainless Steel ER347Si Filler Wire is used for welding Nb, and Ti stabilized 18% Cr-8% Ni austenitic stainless-steel base materials. SS ER347Si Welding Wire has superior resistance to general corrosion and is used in many applications in the chemical, petrochemical, food, brewery and nuclear industries.
