307 STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE

307Si produces a tough, ductile, 19% Cr / 9% Ni / 7% Mn austenitic stainless weld metal which is highly crack resistant. It is intended for joining hardenable steels, armor plate, 13% Mn steels and difficult-to-weld steels, without the need for preheat.

It is also recommended for dissimilar joints between stainless and mild or medium carbon steels. Welds produced with 307Si can be PWHT without risk of sigma-phase formation and consequent loss of ductility. The deposit work hardens from 200 HV to 450 HV. APPLICATIONS: Buffer layers on 13% Mn steels used in rock crushing and earth moving equipment, prior to hard facing.

Reclaiming 13% Mn steels. Surfacing of rails, rail crossings, frogs etc. Buffer layers in highly restrained repair work.

The 307 MIG wire is a fully austenitic wire electrode for GMAW/MIG welding of high alloy steels to unalloyed or low alloy steels. It is also suitable for depositing crack arresting buffer layers on crack sensitive base metals, as well as cladding jobs. The weld metal is highly work hardenable and is also corrosion resistant. The deposit is non-scaling up to 850°C.

Austenitic stainless-steel welding wire for submerged arc welding of dissimilar steels, difficult to weld steels, armour plates, high manganese steels, rails, crossovers. Suitable also for depositing stress relieving buffer layers on crack sensitive base metals and hardsurfacing, e.g. crane wheels, cutting blades and dies where high degree of pressure and dynamical loads exists. Weld metal is resistant to operating temperatures up to 300°C and non-scalling up to 850°C and also highly corrosion resistant. Used in combination with SIF 501 and SIF 502 submerged arc welding fluxes. Depending on chemical composition of base metal, proper welding procedure, preheating and interpass temperatures shall be applied by also avoiding high admixture of base metal.

APPLICATIONS

  • 201, 202 stainless steels and 3Cr12 and 5Cr12 (1.4003) steels.
  • Welding of armour plate, austenitic manganese steels and other difficult to weld steels.
  • Welding of stainless steels to other steels eg. carbon and low alloy steels.
  • Use as buffer layers under hardfacing.

FEATURES

  • Improved manganese content that minimizes the risk for fissuring/hot cracking else it can be a problem in fully austenitic weld metals
  • Utilized for joints between non-alloyed or low-alloy steels and stainless steels when resistance to corrosion is of secondary priority

RESISTANCE AGAINST CORROSION

The corrosion resistance is similar to that of the respective parent metal.

307si STAINLESS STEEL FILLER WIRE

307Si stainless steel MIG wire is ideal for welding austenitic steels to carbon steels as well as joining wear plates. Another common use is as a buffer layer priot to hard facing. AWS A5.9 ER307Si BS EN 12072 2000 18.8 Mn.

Austenitic stainless-steel wire electrode for GMA (MIG/MAG) welding of dissimilar steels, difficult to weld steels, armour plates, high manganese steels, rails, crossovers. Suitable also for depositing stress relaxing buffer layers on crack sensitive base metals and hardfacing jobs, e.g. crane wheel surfacing where high degree of pressure and dynamical loads exists. Weld metal has a high degree of corrosion resistance and resistant to operating temperatures up to 300°C and non-scalling up to 850°C.
