E410-15 Stainless Steel Electrode

Basic type stainless steel electrode with high recovery, which is used for welding of approx. 13% Cr containing stainless and heat resistant chromium steels or cast steels. Deposits martensitic stainless-steel weld metal.

Also suitable for corrosion and abrasion resistant surfacing of contact surfaces of gas, water and steam fan, fan blades and fittings subjected to operating temperatures up to 450°C. Weld metal is non-scaling up to 850°C. Use with DCEP. Depending on type of base metal and wall thickness, preheating and interpass temperatures from 100 to 400°C and tempering at 650 to 750°C are advisable.

E410-16 Stainless Steel Electrode

EDEN E410-16 is designed to weld stainless steels of similar chemical composition as well as to overlay carbon steels to impart corrosion, erosion, and abrasion resistance.  This air-hardening type material calls for a preheat and interpass temperature of not less than 400⁰F during welding.

Applications

EDEN E410-16 electrodes are recommended for welding type 410 straight chromium steel. This alloy is used extensively for corrosion and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures up to 1500ºF. Unlike the chromium-nickel stainless steels, this type is not subject to loss of corrosion resistance due to carbide precipitation.

Welding of 13%Cr steel such as AlSl410, SUS420J1, SUS420J2. build-up welding of water runner where cavitation or erosion resistability is required.

DESCRIPTION:

EDEN 410 is a lime-titania type electrode of good usability in all position welding. Oxidation and corrosion resistibilities of weld metal are good. It is used for surfacing of the part where corrosion resistibility is required in chemical and petroleum industry.

NOTES ON USAGE:

  • Preheat at 200 – 400°C as weld metal has self-hardeing properties.
  • Postheat at 700 – 800°C in order to improve the structure and to stress relieve after welding.
