E308L-15 Stainless Steel Electrode

Basic coated electrode for welding austenitic stainless Cr-Ni steels or cast steels, having an extra low carbon content, as well as stainless or heat resisting chromium steels or cast steels. Suitable for welding stainless steel tanks, valves, pipes and linings in chemical, petrochemical, energy, food, beverage, pharmaceutical industries. For operating temperatures of up to 350°C, non-scaling up to 800°C. Possible to use with DC. Fine metal droplet transfer, good fusion of joint faces, finely rippled bead surface, provides high strength weld metal.

EDEN 308L-15 electrodes were developed for the welding of Type 304L stainless steels but can be used for many other stainless steels including Types 301, 302 & 304. They are used extensively for the welding of chemical plant equipment and may be used successfully for the welding of Types 321 and 347 stainless steels provided the service temperature is less than about 700°F (375°C). The basic coating of EDEN 308L-15 gives the highest resistance to cracking and excellent vertical welding characteristics. Operates on DC current only.

DESCRIPTION

EDEN 308L-15 is designed for welding of AISI types 301, 302 and 304 stainless steel. It is based on lime-titania formula and recommended for welding with DC + current Welds are porosity free with corrosion resistance comparable to that of base metal.

308L electrodes contain extra low carbon for the welding of austenitic, low carbon 18% Cr –8% Ni stainless steels such as AISI-304-ELC. The weld deposit of this electrode contains a maximum of 0.04% carbon, which greatly reduces the formation of chromium carbides, thereby protecting the corrosion resistant qualities of the base metal and weld. EDEN 308L electrodes have a high deposition rate resulting in excellent efficiency. This electrode may be used in all positions. In addition to 304-ELC, 308L electrodes may be used for stabilized stainless steels such as AISI 321 and 347, joint welds in construction parts for chemical engineering and cryogenic applications. The -15 coating will help for vertical down welding but found very good in vertical up.

NOTES ON USAGE:

  • Keep the arc length as short as possible.
  • The welding current should be used as low as possible.

INDUSTRIES

  • Industrial and General Fabrication
  • Petrochemical
  • Ship/Barge Building
  • Tank and Vessel Fabrication

E308L-16 Stainless Steel Electrode

EDEN E308L-16 was developed for welding 304L. This electrode deposits a maximum of 0.04% carbon in the weld metal. Type 308L-16 is used extensively for welding of chemical plant equipment and may be used successfully for welding types 321 and 347 steel grades. EDEN  E308L-16 minimizes the formation of chromium carbides in the weld metal.

Rutile coated electrode for welding austenitic stainless Cr-Ni steels or cast steels, having an extra low carbon content, as well as stainless or heat resisting chromium steels or cast steels. Suitable for welding stainless steel tanks, valves, pipes and linings in chemical, food, beverage, pharmaceutical industries. For operating temperatures of up to 350°C, non-scaling up to 800°C. Possible to use equally well both with AC and DC. Easy arc striking and re-striking. Fine metal droplet transfer, good fusion of joint faces, finely rippled bead surface, easily removable slag.

Fabrication of stainless-steel structures and assemblies such as plate, pipework, vessels, tanks, forgings and castings in the chemical, petrochemical, power and pharmaceutical industries, food, drink and paper processing plant.

Highly recommended for general repair work and fabrication of stainless-steel equipment such as containers, tanks, vats, and other equipment used in the dairy, chemical and food industries. Also, ideal as protective overlay on steel where medium hardness and complete corrosion resistance is required.

DESCRIPTION:

A general-purpose stainless-steel Shielded Metal Arc Welding electrode for welding 18/8 austenitic stainless steels. EDEN 308L-16 deposits a low carbon 18% Cr-8% Ni weld metal to provide good corrosion resistance properties to intergranular attack from a range of liquid chemical media at service temperatures up to 300ºC. Welds with a smooth even metal transfer and stable arc, and is practically spatter free. Finely-ripped bead and self-peeling slag. Easy welding in all positions. The striking and restriking of the electrode is remarkably easy. A self-releasing slag and the risk of porosity in the weld is minimal provided the electrode is dry. The finished welds exhibit a slightly concave shape with good cosmetic appearance which requires little or no post weld dressing. The electrode is ideal for both fillet and butt-welding applications. The smaller sizes including 3.25mm are suitable for positional welding while the bigger sizes are for flat only.

NOTES ON USAGE

Prepare and fit the work carefully, cleaning the joints of all foreign material. Use AC (minimum OCV of 70V) or DC+ current. Proceed with the lowest current possible and short arc without allowing coating to touch molten pool. Short and intermittent welding is to be preferred to avoid overheating and distortion. Avoid excessive weaving. Electrodes should be coated. Discard exposed core wire by striking or scratch welding in a scrap plate until exposed core wire is consumed. Use dry electrodes to prevent blowholes in deposit. If necessary re-dry at 200ºC for 2 hours before use.

E308H-16 Stainless Steel Electrode

EDEN E308H electrodes contain higher carbon over 308for the welding of austenitic, high carbon 18% Cr –8% Ni stainless steels such as AISI-304-H. The weld deposit of this electrode contains a 0.04-0.08% carbon, which provides higher tensile and creep strengths at elevated temperatures. USA 308H electrodes have a high deposition rate resulting in excellent efficiency. This electrode may be used in all positions. USA 308Helectrodes may be used joint welds in construction parts for chemical engineering and cryogenic applications.

Rutile type austenitic stainless-steel electrode for welding especially 304H and similar austenitic stainless steels or cast steels and heat resistant steels, having high carbon content. Suitable for welding stainless steel tanks, valves, pipes and linings in chemical, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, fertilizer industries. Weld metal is suitable for use at high operating temperatures and it is also non-scaling. Possible to use equally well both with AC and DC. Easy arc striking and re-striking. Fine metal droplet transfer, good fusion of joint faces, finely rippled bead surface, easily removable slag.

APPLICATIONS:

Typical applications include chemical, petrochemical industries as well as distillery, dairy and restaurant equipment.

DESCRIPTION:

EDEN 308H is used to weld un-stabilized austenitic stainless steels such as 302, 304 and 305. It provides greater corrosion resistance than the base metals on which they are applied.
